Terms of Use
By using Hey Circl (the iOS app, iMessage extension, widget and heycircl.com) you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. The iOS app is also covered by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

The service
Hey Circl helps a circle decide what to watch, eat, do, play, or listen to. You create or join a circle, start a round, and vote. Recommendations are generated from catalog data and the preferences of the people in the circle. They can be wrong. Check opening hours, prices, ratings, and availability before you go.
Your account
You must be at least 13 to use Hey Circl. You sign in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping that sign-in secure. You can delete your account from Settings.
Content you submit
- Circle names, handles, descriptions, photos, votes, and picks you post are your content. You give us a licence to store and display them to the people you share them with, and, for public circles, to anyone.
- Don’t post anything illegal, hateful, sexually explicit, or that impersonates someone else. Don’t use a handle that infringes a trademark.
- Hosts may remove members from their circles. We may remove content or circles that break these rules, and may suspend accounts for repeated abuse.
Acceptable use
Don’t scrape, reverse engineer, overload, or interfere with the service. Don’t create accounts by automated means. Don’t inflate votes, follower counts, impressions, or taps.
Subscriptions
- Circl Pro on the web is an auto-renewing subscription billed by Stripe, monthly or yearly, at the price shown at checkout. We do not store your card number.
- Circl Pro and Creator Pro on iOS are auto-renewing subscriptions billed to your Apple Account. Round packs are one-time App Store purchases of extra rounds, not a subscription. Creator Pro and round packs are sold on iOS, not on the website.
- A subscription renews until you cancel. Cancel a Stripe plan from Settings › Subscription, which opens Stripe’s customer portal. Cancel an App Store plan in iOS Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions. Access continues until the end of the period you already paid for.
- If you already have Circl Pro, we will not sell you a second subscription on the other store.
- A Circl Pro subscription upgrades every private circle you belong to for all of its members while the subscription is active. Creator Pro upgrades the public circles you host.
- Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Questions about a charge on the web can be sent to the contact below.
Sponsored picks and partners
- Businesses may buy sponsored placements on heycircl.com/partners. Placements are always labeled “Sponsored”, run for the purchased window, and are shown only in Discover and in public-circle rounds. Hosts on Creator Pro may turn them off for their circle.
- Partner campaigns are paid up front through Stripe and are non-refundable once they start serving, except where required by law.
- Creator Pro hosts who keep sponsored picks on earn the revenue share shown in Audience Insights. Each campaign has a fixed host-share budget; once it is spent, further placements from that campaign are unpaid. Shares are paid out at our discretion once the balance reaches the payout minimum. We may withhold payouts for suspected fraud.
- You may not use sponsored picks to advertise anything illegal, misleading, or unsuitable for a general audience.
Disclaimer and liability
Hey Circl is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for anything that happens at a venue or event you chose through the app. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes and ending use
We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do. Continued use after a change means you accept it. You can stop using the service or delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
